I am a biologist with a Master's degree in Plant Biotechnology. Since my undergrad studies, I have used and developed network-based approaches to understand gene/genome evolution and gene regulation in plant species. In the era of big genomic data, I think networks are the best way to integrate and interpret large-scale patterns, from ecological networks to molecular networks. As a PhD student, I will use graph theory to explore the impact of polyploidization events in plant gene regulatory networks. My goal is to understand how autopolyploidy and allopolyploidy have rewired regulatory interactions and shaped transcriptional regulation in plants.
